A secret

Yes I have a secret, and it is probably no less than yours. The secret of the joy in my life comes from the people around me. There are those who touched me briefly and moved on and there are others who continue to be part of my life ever since. Both have helped me evolve my character but especially the forever ones, who continue to add on to my personal growth. This page is dedicated to all those dear ones.

A large part of whom I am comes of course from the upbringing by my parents. My mother nourished me with a strong foundation of self-confidence. She was fondly known by her friends as Pritam Kaur. I still remember clearly when as a 3 year old kid she led me to the Gurudwara (Sikh Temple) every evening through the dark, isolated forests unwaveringly reciting God’s name. She forgot to teach me the word ‘fear’.

SUKHDEV SINGH HARI

Watching my father, Sukhdev Singh Hari, who made service to humanity as a major aspect of his life showed me the difference one person can make through compassion. His zeal for holistic healing and spreading knowledge remains alive even today in the lives of the people he touched. The empathy and faith my parents instilled in me has shaped the way I relate to people. The spirit of adventure they gifted has empowered me to take risks, and at the same time continue to stay resilient during challenging times.

Apart from my parents, leading the list of people who have helped shape my destiny is my elder brother, Gurdip Hari, who after serving as Chairman of our group is now a celebrity writer and continues to make social impact through his new projects such as Healthy Mind International School. Along with teaching and sharpening my business and management skills, he constantly provided mentoring for many years until my career got stabilized.

DALJIT HARI

Next to him comes the role of his dear wife Daljit Kaur. When I left home at the young age of 18, it was she who adopted me as her eldest son, played the role not only of a mother, but also of a business partner working alongside for long hours into the night to help me timely accomplish my projects. She continues to manage the operations of IPMC until today in an efficient manner.

Professionally, the largest part of my success comes from my customers. There have been those very first ones who recognized and encouraged my software programming skills. After a long span of 30 years, some of them continue to use my ‘Accounts Manager’ accounting software even till today. Then there were others who trusted my organizational capabilities and gave me the opportunity to perform and accomplish their large enterprise automation projects.

( Amar’s first customer Mr. Habib Nicholas Bouclaous stands proudly on 20-June-2020, still using his first LEO computer assembled by Amar himself in 1992, along with 28 years of his daily use of Amar’s accounting software visible on the screen ‘Accounts manager’ )

Though every country on planet Earth is great, but my life got blessed with God’s own country ‘Ghana’. A true democracy and a beacon of peace, the intellect of the Ghanaian people comes from their rich cultural heritage which continue to make them the most progressive nation in the world. I am glad to have started IPMC in the land of this shining black star of Africa. The warmth and welcoming nature of Ghanaians is second to none.

My biggest support however in shaping my future have been some of my finest colleagues, some who have moved on to discover more of their destinies, but especially those who have stayed on to align their destinies with mine. It is their trust and faith in my capabilities that has helped me to continuously improve my performance and enabled me to stand to their expectations. I feel very proud of the dedication my work colleagues have given me in return and continue to give. Without this very best and hardworking set of professionals God has gifted me, all my efforts would have been in vain.

On the personal front, there have been friends who have done what friends do best. They rip you off through continuous criticism and show you the shortcomings which others may hesitate to mention. But they hold you and provide you emotional and moral support in the worst of your times. Foremost of them has been my Best Friend Forever (BFF), perhaps transcending from one birth to another, and that is none other than my angel, my beautiful dear wife Gurpreet who has helped me to discover the key to all my happiness. She has helped me to discover myself, my spirituality, my inner self, and most of all connected me to the love for my Creator.

Sukhmani Kaur

The beautiful children she has given me, my daughter Sukhmani and son Simar, who endured my absence during my business growth, and who are now trying to accept my numerous shortcomings after becoming adults, they have brought to me some of the greatest joys of my life by replicating in them some parts of my good side and showing to me that I wasn’t really that bad.

SIMAR

The very outstanding children of my elder brother, my dearest nephew Sanam Hari who now successfully leads our business and his wonderful wife Alipt who has brought the love of lawn tennis back into my life.

JASMIN WITH HUBBY ABHEET SANDHU

Finally how can I not mention my dearest niece Jasmin who brushes on to my writing skills and challenges me endlessly with her quirky wit. These children are still helping me to grow and make me a better version of myself. They have together given me the true happiness of a life time.
