The era of AI or machine learning has arrived at that point where machines are actually being taught to think and make decisions. Machines are no more simply limited to data entry or data processing units, but have progressed towards becoming more analytical.

You may have seen the new online virtual assistants helping to answer some of your common queries, or the famous Alexa which is like a genie attempting to fulfil all of your commands. Additionally, AI usage is fast becoming popular in autonomous or self driving vehicles and autonomous flying. It is also presently popular in online predictive behaviour and driving the retail, shopping and fashion industry. One of our favourite pastimes, sports is using AI a lot in helping umpires judge better, while its usage in security and surveillance, manufacturing, logistics supply chain, medical imaging analysis and more is increasing day by day.

The fears that AI will make humans redundant is similar to thinking that PCs and laptops, or automation brought down the workforce of each organization. Technology rather helps in enhancing human productivity and in increasing trade and commerce which in turn creates more job opportunities. Similarly AI will allow humans to move away from analyzing any data themselves but rather upscale and utilize their intelligence to do something better. Teaching machines to become analytical is only helping us make use of that data which was otherwise neglected. AI is here to stay. As it makes inroads into more aspects of our regular lives, it makes more sense for us to adapt to its presence and modify our skills accordingly.
