Every woman deserves happiness. It is her right. She can only get this as long as she gets respect. Even if her household is penniless, but if she gets respect from those around her, she will be happy.

Watching an outstanding Bollywood movie ‘Thapad’ (Slap a woman) reminded me of my own male chauvinism, of how at times under work or business stress I may have shouted on the women around me, of how for one reason or the other I may have knowingly or unknowingly hurt them by causing them disrespect. Many men may end up doing so in their lifetime.

I pray that all men realize that male chauvinism or male superiority has been given to them for protecting their women, and the biggest thing a man should protect about a woman is her respect, including his own respect towards her.
